Sustained Cooling. Reimagined.

Long-Lasting topical cooling comfort – engineered to last.

IC Bioscience Research (ICBR) is a Dallas, Texas–based for-profit biomedical research and development company building the next generation of topical cooling technology. We are developing a proprietary platform designed to deliver a long-lasting cooling sensation on the skin — with a development target of up to 6–8 hours from a single application — without the bulk of ice packs or the short duration of conventional menthol products.

The heat problem is large, growing, and underserved.

Workforce & Outdoor Heat

Global temperatures are rising, and 100°F+ days are increasingly common — straining outdoor work, sports, and everyday life. The International Labour Organization estimates that 2.4 billion workers worldwide are exposed to excessive heat, associated with roughly 22.85 million occupational injuries each year (ILO, 2024). Employers are investing in cooling wearables, yet today’s options — ice packs, cooling vests, and short-lived cooling patches — are bulky, cumbersome, or fade within minutes to an hour. The need is clear: cooling comfort that is lightweight, hands-free, and long-lasting.

Prosthesis Comfort – An Investigational Research Program

For the roughly 2.3 million Americans living with limb loss — a number projected to reach 3.6 million by 2050 — the interface between the residual limb and a prosthetic socket can create a hot, moist, high-friction microclimate that reduces comfort and prosthetic wear-time. ICBR is researching an investigational topical technology intended to support residual-limb cooling comfort at the socket interface.

This is an early-stage research program, not an FDA-cleared or approved medical product.

Our Platform / The Science

A cooling sensation that lasts — by design.

ICBR’s platform pairs a proprietary cooling complex with an advanced lipid-based delivery system that targets the body’s natural cold-sensing pathway (the TRPM8 receptor). The approach is engineered to sustain the cooling sensation far longer than conventional cooling agents, with a development goal of up to 6–8 hours per application.

Critically, our technology is designed to produce a genuine cooling sensation on the skin — a sensory effect, not a systemic drug action — setting it apart from ingestible or whole-body cooling approaches.

Formulation and mechanism details are proprietary and protected.

Products & Pipeline

Consumer Cooling Line

A cooling patch and cooling spray developed as premium consumer comfort products for active, outdoor, and everyday use — a refreshing, long-lasting cooling sensation that is hands-free and residue-free.

Consumer comfort products intended to be marketed as cosmetics.

Investigational programs (in development)

ICBR is separately developing investigational applications — including occupational human-performance cooling and residual-limb prosthesis-comfort technology — on the appropriate FDA regulatory pathway.

These programs are in research and development and are not FDA-cleared or approved.

Target product characteristics (in development)

  • Long-lasting cooling sensation — development target of up to 6–8 hours
  • A sensory cooling effect, not a systemic action
  • Designed to be gentle, non-irritating, and skin-friendly
  • Low-odor, non-greasy, and residue-free

10-Year Vision

The gold standard for long-lasting cooling comfort.

Over the next decade, ICBR aims to become a leader in topical sensory-cooling technology — beginning with our consumer cooling line, advancing our investigational occupational and prosthesis-comfort programs, and exploring further applications across athletic, industrial, and clinical settings. Our licensing-driven model is designed to scale the technology broadly while sustaining continued research.
